You can plant particular plants in your garden to repel insects like mosquitos and flies! 

In our shop, we have a wide variety of plants that you can use.


The following include:

  1. Basil- Repels house flies and mosquitoes. You can use fresh basil to make an insect repellent spray.
  2. Lavender- Repels moths, fleas, flies and mosquitoes.
  3. Lemongrass- Repels mosquitoes.
  4. Lemon Thyme- Repels mosquitoes.
  5. Mint- Repels mosquitoes.
  6. Rosemary- Repels mosquitoes and a variety of insects harmful to vegetable plants.
  7. Sage- Repels mosquitoes.
  8. Catnip- Repels mosquitoes.
  9. Lemon balm- Repels mosquitoes.
  10. Bay leaves- Repel flies.
  11. Chives- Repel carrot flies, Japanese beetle and aphids.
  12. Dill- Repels aphids, squash bugs, spider mites, cabbage loopers and tomato hornworms.
  13. Fennel- Repels aphids, slugs and snails.
  14. Oregano- Repels many pests.
  15. Parsley- Repels asparagus beetles.
  16. Thyme- Repels whiteflies, cabbage loopers, cabbage maggots, corn earthworms, whiteflies, tomato hornworms and small whites.
  17. Chrysanthemums- Repel roaches, ants, Japanese beetles, ticks, silverfish, lice, fleas, bedbugs, spider mites, harlequin bugs and root-knot nematodes.
  18. Marigolds- repels aphids, mosquitoes, and even rabbits.
  19. Nasturtiums- Repel whiteflies, squash bugs, aphids, many beetles and cabbage loopers.
  20. Petunias- Repel aphids, tomato hornworms, asparagus beetles, leafhoppers and squash bugs.
  21. Geraniums- Geraniums can repel leafhoppers and other types of insects.
  22. Floss Flowers- Repel mosquitoes.
  23. Common lantanas- Repel mosquitoes.
  24. Four o'clocks- Attract but poison Japanese beetle.
  25. Narcissus- Repel moles.
  26. Pitcher Plants- Repel mosquitoes.
