Godetia Orange (Godetia Grandiflora Azaelaflora Orange Glory) - For a stunning color and display in your flower border, start Godetia seed and reap the rewards of this glorious annual. Godetia Grandiflora is also called Clarkia, Farewell to Spring and Satin Flower. The name Clarkia comes from Captain Clark of the Lewis and Clark expedition. Clarkia flowers are native to the western portion of the United States, and they do very well in coastal climates growing in full sun. This Orange Godetia flower is excellent for cutting and had double blooms for more intense color.
For best results, sow Farewell to Spring seeds directly outdoors into prepared soil after temperatures have warmed up. Sow the flower seeds directly into the ground or into pots. Transplanting it is often unsuccessful. Some gardeners will sow Godetia seeds in 2 - 3 week successions to extend the bloom time for this annual.
