Tropical sage is a perennial plant but is grown as an annual plant. Salvia  Splendens can grow to 36 inches tall and consists of egg-shaped leaves. The flowers have spikes that grow from the centre in a cluster that are red tubular shaped. Scarlet sage flowers bloom from summer to fall and grows best in well drained soil with access to sunlight. Tropical sage is easy to grow and will splash colour to your garden. Scarlet sage will not only bring colour to your garden but attracts hummingbirds to your garden. Sage Red-Orange seeds have a rather unpredictable germination time as on average it can take from 10-30 days at 20-24C (68-75F). Sage prefers to be positioned in a full sun position but will happily grow in partial shade.
