Obedient Plant is also known as False Dragonhead, and it is a compact, erect, clump-forming perennial which typically grows 24-30 inches (60-80 cm) tall. The pink Obedient Plant has stiff, square stems and produces dense spikes of rich pink, snapdragon-like flowers which bloom in mid summer. Obedient Plant seeds is easily grown in average, medium wet, well-drained soil in full sun. A recommended method of sowing Pink Obedient Plant seeds is to sow the seed in the fall after several frosts have occurred. The flower seed will lie dormant on the ground until spring temperatures warm. Sow the seed in groups of 3 - 4 spaced 18 - 24 inches (45-60cm) apart. Thin the Obedient Plant seedlings to the strongest plant. False Dragonhead care includes dividing the plant every 2 - 3 years to control the rhizomatous root system (spreading). Deadheading will also encourage more blooms and also slow down the re-seeding.
