New Zealand spinach - 60 seeds (Tetragonia tetragonioides)
New Zealand Spinach is a warm season perennial that grows as an annual in colder climates. The taste is considered to be milder in flavor than true spinach. The leaves are arrow-shaped, thick, succulent and can be picked over a long period of time, the leaves growing up to 4 inches (10cm). The stems are weak and the spinach is low growing. New Zealand Spinach seeds will take on average between 7-21days to germinate and should be soaked for 24 hours. During germination the seeds should also be kept between 16-24°C (60-75°F). Spinach is a fantastic source of excellent source of vitamin K, vitamin A, vitamin C, iron and many other nutrients.
