Uchiki kuri is also known as Japanese squash, Orange Hokkaido or Red Kuri squash. Small sized, teardrop shaped fruits 1 - 2 kg with deep, firm golden flesh. Produces 4-5 fruits per plant.

For the seeds to germinate quickly and uniformly, cover the seedlings with glass or film. Temperature 20-25C (68-77F) is required. When 2-4 true leaves show up, seedlings are transplanted one by one to the permanent place
