Start sowing Swiss Chard seeds and enjoy this rainbow variety that is full of nutritious value.  Rainbow Swiss Chard is quite striking with dark green leaves and bright red, orange, yellow and pink stems. It is a hardy plant and related to the beet. They thrives in soil that has had organic matter added. It is recommended to add a couple of inches of compost to the soil a few weeks before planting the Swiss Chard seeds.

Sow seeds from March to July at 1/2in (1 cm) deep in a good seed compost. Thin seedlings to 3" (7 cm) apart. Ready to harvest after 50-60 days from sowing.
